From Doubt to Devotion
Born and raised in the vibrant city of Lima, Peru, Vannia travelled to Vancouver, Canada, seeking not only academic advancement but also a deeper understanding of herself and the world around her.
Her journey in the world of yoga began when she first stepped into a yoga class and felt a profound connection to herself that surpassed all her previous experiences. It was a moment of clarity, a spiritual awakening, and it set her on a path that would shape the course of her life.
Yoga's Profound Impact
The first time Vannia attended a yoga class, she realized that this practice held the key to her purpose. It was an experience that transcended religious institutions and connected her to a profound sense of self. This revelation inspired her to embark on a journey to become a certified 200HR yoga teacher, a path she continues to walk with unwavering dedication.
Intersection of Yoga, Scholarship, and Creativity
Her educational background in anthropology has given her unique insights into the diverse perspectives that shape our society. Vannia is a white, middle-class woman, an anthropologist UBC, and a passionate yoga teacher.
Vannia's calling goes beyond the yoga mat. She believes in the intersection of yoga, justice, and creativity. She sees yoga as a powerful tool to transcend the chaos of our world and reconnect with the interconnectedness of all beings.

Vannia is dedicated to creating safe spaces where you can reconnect with your breath, your body, and your inner wisdom. In her classes, you'll find an environment where you can sit with discomfort, reflect on the practice, and explore the path toward decolonial futures.
Vannia's goal is simple:
To help you get out of your own way by interrupting the autopilot inside of us. She will help you embrace the essential teachings of yoga philosophy and apply them in their everyday lives.
